gfx 150x150 Make That Small Condo Large! When you decorate your condo mirrors can perform magic. Just like a magician, mirrors use optical illusion to fool the eye. Mirrors can solve dozens of decorating problems or be the focal point of a room.

Here are six easy ways to make your condo look more spacious in just a few hours:

Expand a Foyer. To make a small entry look larger, mirror a wall or hang a large mirror above a chest of drawers or a console. If your entry is dark, mirrors can brighten the area by reflecting more light
in the area.

Widen Two Windows.  If you have two windows close to each other, mirror the narrow space between them and treat them as one window. Use a single valance over the windows and curtain panels on the right
and left sides. This creates the appearance of one large window.

Create a Focal Point. If you have a fireplace, hang a mirror above it and fill your mantel with beautiful candles when you entertain. The mirror will reflect light back into the room adding space and warmth.

No fireplace? No problem. Buy a great looking console and hang a large decorative mirror above it. Add height to the console with tall candle holders and tapers or big chunky candles on pedestals. You can also take a page from the decorating book of Paris hotels: buy a smashing vase and fill it with extremely tall flowers.

Fill Space Gaps. If you have two windows with a wide space between  them, try this trick: Put a handsome console or chest between the windows. Keep your window treatments simple. Panels in a fabric suitable for your decor would be a good choice.

Rescue Small Bathrooms. The fastest way to lighten and brighten a small bath or powder room is to put a seriously large mirror above the vanity and add theatrical-style strip lighting on each side of the mirror. If your budget permits, mirror the opposite wall to create an even more spacious feeling.

Brighten Kitchen Task Zones. If your kitchen feels cramped, mirror the wall space between the cabinets and counter tops. This trick adds  more light and makes the workspace look larger.

Open Up Small Closets. Turn a small closet into a computer nook. Mirror the walls, add built-ins, and hire an electrician to install good lighting. Your computer room will be bright and cheerful thanks to the magic or mirrors.
